Title: "Twelve Things To Do If Your Loved One Is An Alcoholic"

Grade Level: Middle School
Time: One Class Period (45 minutes)

Learning Outcomes:

To help family members and friends of alcoholics to cope.

Content/Methods:

  1. Assign one of the Things To Do to each student. Make sure every student is involved.
  2. Student will find pictures to illustrate Things To Do. This will help to understand how to cope with an alcoholic.
  3. Make a collage of the pictures or newsprint, etc. These pictures will depict how to cope with an alcoholic.

Materials:

  • Magazines from which students can use pictures
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Newsprint or butcher paper

Evaluation:

Have students sit in a circle and each one explain the collage they have made to help understand how to cope with an alcoholic.
