Dr. Michael Hendryx is Professor and Interim Chair in the Department of Health Policy, Management and Leadersip in the School of Public Health at West Virginia University.
He is also Director of the West Virginia Rural Health Research Center. Michael earned his Ph.D. in Psychology from Northwestern University in 1986, and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Methodology at the University of Chicago. He previously served as faculty at the University of Iowa, and at Washington State University.
His research interests focus on health disparities, particularly for residents of Appalachian coal mining communities; he has published over 100 peer reviewed research articles.
Dr. Hendryx teaches courses in the Department of Community Medicine, including Health Policy in the M.P.H. program.
