2017 APHA PHEHP Early Career Professionals Scholarship

Engaging health educators who are practitioners at the local or state level in participating with the American Public Health Association (APHA) through its Public Health Education and Health Promotion (PHEHP) Section is an important element in the growth of the public health workforce. Such participation is also a mechanism for recruiting, engaging and retaining new leaders within the PHEHP Section. Often public health educators in local or state health departments or community based organizations do not have the means to attend initiatives that would further their professional development and contribute to our profession (e.g., the APHA Annual Meeting). In response to that need, PHEHP has established a $1,000 scholarship (up to 3 awarded each year) to assist public health education and health promotion professionals to participate in the highly valued educational opportunities at the Annual Meeting and Exposition of APHA.

Additional information on the 2017 PHEHP Early Career Professionals Scholarship can be found in the cover letter, backgrounder, and application form.
