Jodi Richardson recognized for academic excellence

Jodi M. Richardson
, MPH, a May 2012 graduate, was recognized for academic excellence. She completed her internship this spring at NIOSH, Health Effects Laboratory Division, Allergy and Clinical Immunology Branch guided by preceptors Stacey Anderson, PhD and B. Jean Meade, DVM, MD, PHD, MPH (2011). She applied for a successful stipend from the Regular Fellow Trainee Program at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR), U.S. Public Health Service, Department of Health and Human Services with the Health Effects Laboratory Division of NIOSH, ACIB. Jodi’s project investigated microRNAs and allergic response following dermal exposure to toluene diisocyanate, a chemical used in the construction, painting and transportation industries. She served as a graduate assistant for Dr. Ruth Kershner from 2010-2011, and her faculty advisor was Dr. Michael McCawley. Jodi leaves in June to attend veterinary school at the University of Mississippi.
