The Public Health Dialogues Speaker Series continues at 12:15 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, in room 1905, Health Sciences North, with a presentation on the relationship between income inequality and the health of a population. Doors open at noon.

Jim Dunn, Ph.D., professor in the Department of Health, Aging, and Society at McMaster University, Canada, will be presenting “Income inequality, expenditures on public goods and population health.”

“Public Health Dialogues is meant to stimulate a discussion on how to move health efforts and initiatives closer to addressing big social and economic determinants of health,” said Speaker Series coordinator Lauri Andress, Ph.D., assistant professor in the School of Public Health. “With Dr. Dunn’s research, we can begin to answer some questions about how social and economic conditions shape population health. With this specific research, he is looking at how government decisions can shape income inequalities.”
