The West Virginia Rural Health Research Center (WVRHRC) was one of six Health Resources and Services Administration, Office of Rural Health Policy (ORHP) funded rural health research centers across the United States from 2008 through 2013. It was established at the West Virginia University Health Sciences Center in both its Morgantown and Charleston campuses. The WVRHRC research focus was on rural environments and ways that the environment impacts rural populations. Regrettably, with the conclusion of the HRSA ORHP grant, the WV Rural Health Research Center closed and is no longer operational.
