Volunteer

As a non-profit membership organization, OLLI at WVU depends on the generous support of our volunteers. Volunteers are the lifeblood of our program, helping to defray the costs associated with offering courses, lectures, workshops, trips and more.

Volunteering can enrich your OLLI experience as you meet new people, learn new skills, share your expertise and savor the satisfaction of making a difference in your lifelong learning community. Volunteering has also been shown to reduce stress, enhance happiness, and strengthen the mind and body.

OLLI welcomes volunteers from all walks of life. If you’re interested in volunteering, contact the OLLI office at 304-293-1793 or submit the Volunteer Information Form.

There Are Many Ways You Can Be Involved!

Course Host

Class hosts play an important role in OLLI at WVU in Morgantown. They are often the first point of contact for members when attending a class. For new members, this is especially important as they may not be sure of where they should be going. A friendly face greeting members at the classroom door makes everyone feel welcome. Learn more about being a class host.

Events and Special Projects

When OLLI holds special events or takes on special projects, we often need a little extra help. This is a short-term commitment and your help is always greatly appreciated.

Committees & Project Teams

Volunteers are always needed to help keep our various committees running and help on short-term project teams. If you are interested, please visit the Committees section of the site.

Teach for OLLI

Do you have a special interest, avocation, knowledge, or talent you would like to share? OLLI volunteer instructors, drawn from all walks of life, are the backbone of our program. For more information, visit Teach for OLLI.

Office Assistants

We need volunteer members to perform various, vital tasks for the main office. If you have an hour or two a week to lend a hand, let us know.
