Call for abstracts: 9th Annual Gamma Mu Chapter of Delta Omega Poster Competition

Deadline extended to April 30

The Gamma Mu Chapter of Delta Omega invites all undergraduate and graduate students from WVU School of Public Health programs to submit their research for consideration for the 9th Annual Poster Competition.

There will be two categories for this competition:

  1. Undergraduate Students
  2. Graduate Students (MPH, MS, MHA and PhD)

One winner from each category will be nominated to submit their abstract on behalf of our Chapter and the WVU School of Public Health to the National Delta Omega Poster Session at the 2021 Annual American Public Health Association (APHA) Meeting and will receive a $250 travel/registration award.

You do not need to be a member of Delta Omega to submit your research.

Note: The winners of each category will be required to submit an abstract to the National Delta Omega Student Poster Session by May 10 and if selected by the National Delta Omega Honor Society, winners will be required to attend the 2021 APHA Annual Meeting in Denver, CO (virtual options may be available) scheduled for October 23-27, 2021.

To participate, submit the following by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, April 30:

  1. Abstract (Word limit: 250) – includes introduction/background, methods, results and conclusion/implications.
  2. Recorded narrated presentation using PowerPoint – No longer than 10 minutes in length (approximately 6 slides). Include the following sections in your presentation:
    • Introduce yourself, your program and your role on the project.
    • Background/Introduction
    • Methods
    • Results
    • Implications, future direction of research

Please submit your abstract and recorded presentation via email to Gamma Mu Delta Omega. Include the following in the Subject Line: “GM DO Poster Submission 2021 –Undergraduate/Graduate.”
