Cancer epidemiology research training program available through CUNY
The CUNY School of Medicine is offering cancer research training internships in global and U.S. minority settings.
The Cancer Epidemiology Education in Special Populations (CEESP) program provides funding for students to travel and conduct summer research in U.S. minority and global settings. The amount awarded is based upon each applicant's research project and its associated costs for a period of up to 15 weeks during the summer of 2019.
The program provides a stipend/subsistence to cover travel and living expenses in the domestic or foreign research sites. Previous internships have been conducted in Ghana, Tanzania, Uganda, Morocco, Vietnam, Kenya, Egypt, Tunisia, Zambia, Cyprus, Peru, Mexico and the United States.
This R25 training program provides mentored research training focused on cancer epidemiology and cancer prevention and summer funding of up to $7,200/student for 15 students each year. The program is open to all schools and programs of public health in the U.S. and last year received applications from 23 schools and programs of public health.
Deadline to apply is January 7, 2019. See attached program flyer, FAQ and CEESP newsletter for more information.
