Dept. of Epidemiology and Biostatistics announces November speaker for seminar series

Dr. Brandon Marshall, associate professor of epidemiology from Brown University, will be visiting with the West Virginia University School of Public Health from Nov. 8-9. Dr. Marshall is a well-established investigator with epidemiological expertise in the intersection of infectious disease and substance user disorder. He has led numerous NIH-funded studies and has authored and co-authored over 300 publications in the area and will give a talk titled, "Building an academic-state health department partnership to respond to the overdose crisis and improve population health” on Nov. 9 from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. in Room 2940A, HSC North.

A special student mixer is planned for November 9th from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at the EPID BIOS Conference Room G103I. All School of Public Health students are welcome to come and speak with Dr. Marshall about his research, his approach to grant writing and collaborating with state agencies, potential future application to Brown University's School of Public Health and more.
