Health Sciences clinical students invited to participate in stress reduction study

Clinical students from all WVU Health Sciences disciplines are invited to participate in the ForeST Study, a randomized controlled research study designed to determine if nature-based activities are feasible and effective in managing stress.

Half of the interested individuals will be randomly assigned to the forest activity group, while the other half will be randomly assigned to the no-activity control group. Over the course of six weeks, individuals in the forest activity group will be asked to attend one, 1-hour session per week at the Core Arboretum, adjacent to the Coliseum. All participants will be asked to complete a series of four online surveys to report on their experiences throughout the study.

Enrollment will begin in late August. Sign up to be notified when enrollment opens.

This study is being conducted through the WVU School of Public Health Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences. WVU Institutional Review Board acknowledgement is on file. If you have any questions about this research project, contact Ph.D. Candidate Samantha Moyers at smoyers2@hsc.wvu.edu or principal investigator Associate Professor Christiaan Abildso.
