Health services management and leadership student recognized for academic success and commitment to excellence

West Virginia University undergraduate Anna Sellaro, a senior in the health services management and leadership program, was recognized by the Association of University Programs in Health Administration with the Bugbee-Falk Book Award.

The annual award is bestowed upon a group of outstanding students in AUPHA’s member programs. With the intent to launch the student’s professional library, the award consists of a number of books from the field of health administration and general management donated to students at member programs.

“I am incredibly flattered to be selected for this award and blessed to receive this recognition and these books to further my education and help me to become the best healthcare administrator I can be,” said Sellaro, a Morgantown native. “I expect these books will be excellent resources within my field.”

In recognition of the lifetime accomplishments of George Bugbee and Isidore S. Falk, M.D., the Book Award serves as a symbol of the selected students’ academic success, the need for continued learning and their commitment to excellence.

“Out of the thousands of health administration students nationally, Anna is one of 52 to receive this prestigious recognition from our professional association,” said Erik Carlton, DrPH, associate dean for professional programs. “It is evidence of her academic excellence and her ongoing engagement with the program, the school and the university. We are proud of her accomplishments and thrilled she was selected as a recipient."

The School of Public Health became a member of AUPHA in the spring of 2020, expanding exclusive resources to its students and faculty.
