N95 masks available for SPH faculty and staff
In addition to face coverings already distributed by West Virginia University, the School of Public Health has procured a stock of N95 masks for distribution to faculty and staff for use in classrooms, labs, offices and other indoor spaces where physical distancing may be difficult to maintain.
The N95 mask is the most common of the seven types of particulate filtering facepiece respirators. This product filters at least 95% of airborne particles but is not resistant to oil-based particles.
To request/obtain a mask, please contact each department/unit’s point of contact:
- Beth Morrison (SBS, HPML)
- Jennifer Sherrod (OEHS, Epi/Bios.)
- Gretchen Peterec (OASA)
- Sarah Woodrum (Central Administrative staff)
N95 masks can be worn multiple times by a single user. They should be replaced when:
- The mask does not fit securely on the wearer or becomes malformed.
- The mask becomes visibly contaminated or soiled (e.g., respiratory/nasal secretions or other bodily fluids).
- The mask becomes damaged (e.g., broken straps or broken nose piece).
If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Sarah Woodrum, senior associate dean for administration.
