The Social Tolls of Our Health Care System

This Zoom event will be hosted by the School of Public Health in celebration of National Public Health Week. In an effort to shed light on the theme of Health as a Human Right, Professor Valarie Blake from the WVU College of Law will present "The Social Tolls of Our Health Care System." This conversation will focus on how our public & private health care systems force unnecessary social trade-offs in marriage, work, retirement and how we can change the system to ensure that health care works for us, not the other way around.

About the Presenter:
Valarie Blake is a Professor at the West Virginia University College of Law where she researches and teaches in the areas of health care law. Professor Blake has a Juris Doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Law and a Master’s degree in Bioethics from Case Western Reserve University’s Medical School.
