Employee Announcements

SPH Employee Announcements serve the purpose of informing all WVU School of Public Health employees (and students, when appropriate) when faculty and staff members have joined or left the SPH.

Faculty and Staff Arrival/Departure

Within three days (if possible) of the new employee beginning work or prior to an employee’s last day:

  • The department chair or department designee will create and send an announcement to their department and copy the SPH director of marketing and communications.
  • The SPH director of marketing and communications will send that communication (with any necessary minor edits for clarity and consistency) to the SPH faculty and staff listserv.
  • The same announcement will be included in the next issue of SPH Happenings.
  • SPH IT will add and remove departmental faculty and staff to and from the HSC Directory.
  • SPH IT will adjust the appropriate listservs accordingly.

Chair or Leadership Arrival/Departure

Within three days (if possible) of the new employee beginning work or prior to an employee’s last day:

  • The dean’s office will create and send an announcement to the SPH faculty and staff listserv.
  • The same announcement will be included in the next issue of SPH Happenings.
  • SPH administrative assistant shall work with SPH IT to ensure the employee is added to or removed from the HSC Directory.
  • SPH IT will adjust the appropriate listservs accordingly.

Center Employee Arrival/Departure

Within three days (if possible) of the new employee beginning work or prior to an employee’s last day:

  • If a center employee’s primary position is with the center (and not another department within the School of Public Health), the center director or center designee will create and send an announcement to their unit and copy the SPH director of marketing and communications.
    • If the employee’s primary position is with another department in SPH, please refer to Faculty and Staff Arrival/Departure guidelines above.
  • The SPH director of marketing and communications will send that communication (with any necessary minor edits for clarity and consistency) to the SPH faculty and staff listserv.
  • The same announcement will be included in the next issue of SPH Happenings.
  • Center designee will add and remove center employees to and from the HSC Directory.
  • SPH IT will adjust the appropriate listservs accordingly.

ARRIVALS:

Department of Epidemiology (FACULTY EXAMPLE)

Toni Marie Rudisill, MS, PhD, recently joined the Department of Epidemiology as a Research Assistant Professor. Dr. Rudisill graduated with her PhD in Epidemiology from West Virginia University in 2015. After graduation, she worked as an Epidemiologist at the West Virginia
University Injury Control Research Center. Prior to her time at WVU, Dr. Rudisill spent nearly a decade working in public health as a scientist in state government. Dr. Rudisill’s current research focuses on the relationship between substance use, transportation safety, and health policy. She also has an interest in spatial and environmental epidemiology.

Office of Academic and Student Affairs (STAFF EXAMPLE)

Taylor Shultz joins the Office of Academic and Student Affairs as student affairs outreach coordinator, serving as the primary contact for undergraduate recruitment. A proud School of Public Health alumna, Taylor will contribute her expertise to enhance student engagement and community outreach. Prior to coming to WVU, Taylor served as the director of awareness and development at the Monongalia County Child Advocacy Center. Taylor is located in HSC South 3308.

 

DEPARTURES:

Office of Academic and Student Affairs (STAFF EXAMPLE)

Devon Neptune has resigned from her position as undergraduate adviser in the Office of Academic and Student Affairs. Her last day with the School of Public Health will be May 31, 2024. Devon will be joining the WVU School of Nursing in a similar role.
